Elongated and wavy sheet.
PROPERTIES
High content of soluble fiber, and source of proteins. Low in fats and no sugars. Rich in iron, and in iodine and is a source of magnesium.
HABITAT IN GALICIA
Since years, it has been found in the ecosystems of the Galician seas with other species. It often grows attached to rocks and is visible when the tide goes out in the open coasts. It proliferates more in cold waters at a depth of between one and three meters.
IN THE KITCHEN
Raw or blanched and seasoned is perfect in salads.
When boiled, it is perfect to accompany meat, fish and seafood. As well with soups, scrambled eggs, croquettes, rice, pasta and burgers.
Dried and crushed to season cookies, pizzas and pies.
