PROPERTIES

High fiber content, highlighting the soluble fiber in relation to other land vegetables. It is rich in minerals such as iodine, and a source of magnesium and potassium. Fat-free and sugar-free.

HABITAT IN GALICIA

It forms lush forests under the waves growing fixed to the rocks on coasts more or less open to the swell. It prefers the cold waters of rocky shores, where it forms part of the habitat of numerous fish, invertebrates and other algae.

IN THE KITCHEN

Enhances the flavor of the food with which it is prepared.

Facilitates the cooking of legumes.

It has thickening capacity, a very useful quality in the preparation of sauces.

Highly recommended in the preparation of broths and stewed meats, as a garnish in fish dishes or to wrap it; in rice, stews, broths, croquettes and hamburgers.
