PROPERTIES

This seaweed is rich in protein and fiber. It has a high content in iodine, although than other spices of seaweeds. Fat and sugar free.

HABITAT IN GALICIA

They grow plenty in spring in the rocks where are normally mussels. The purple sheets cover the rocks in the open sea beaches.

IN THE KITCHEN

It is very popular for its use in the sushi. You can use it combining the rice with fruits, cheese, nuts, shrimps, avocado and vegetables.

Dried and toasted as an appetizer. Grind and use it to season creams, sauces, béchamel …

Boiled in soups, creams, croquettes, scrambled eggs and rice.

It goes very well without previous cooking in salads, paellas and soups.
