New agricultural inputs for the improvement of organic crops made with seaweed from Galicia.
Are you a farmer, a fertilizer manufacturer or do you belong to the agri-food value chain?
Are you interested in organic and/or sustainable agriculture? Do you know the potential and effects of algae application in agricultural crops?
ALGATERRA is a pilot project whose main objective is to develop new agricultural inputs with seaweed discards produced in the food industry, and to test their effectiveness for use in organic agriculture, as well as in conversion and sustainable conventional agriculture.
The aim of this conference is to present the main results and conclusions of the project, derived from the activities carried out in relation to the development of new agricultural inputs from seaweed discards, and their effectiveness for use in organic agriculture, in conversion and in sustainable conventional agriculture. In this conference, the process of preparation of the developed formulations and their formats (extracts, biostimulants) and the tests carried out in the field, which have served to prove their effectiveness in the cultivation of horticultural products such as lettuce, tomato and potato, as well as their effect on the increase of resistance to certain fungal diseases in grapevine, will be shown.
